Top 10 Fastest of the 2010 World Cup
Date of post -Tuesday, July 06, 2010

Here is my top 10 'Fastest' of this years World Cup...enjoy.

1. Fastest goal. Thomas Muller, Germany 3min
Fastest all time World Cup goal Hakan Sukur, Turkey, 2002 just 11 seconds.

2. Fastest player at the World Cup. Manchester United's Mexican striker Javier Hernandez. FIFA has clocked him at 19.97 mph or 32.15 kmph.

3. Fastest team. Germany. For their youthful energetic counter attacking play which has lit up this tournament. The speed which they transitioned from defense to attack is breathtaking, just ask England and Argentina.

4. Fastest exit. Cameroon. First to be eliminated after losing its first two games.

5. Fastest to leave a bad taste in the mouth. France. Shouldn't have even been on the plane to South Africa. After Henry's handball in the play off to Anelka being sent home early, then the team refusing to train and not even to mention their below par showing at the tournament. Overall glad to see the back of this French team.

6. Fastest hands. Suarez, Uruguay. Should be nominated for the best goal keeper award. Hero or villain, cheat or champion depend which country you ask I suppose. The question is... would you do it for your team country? Of course you would.

7. Fastest to the ground. Arjen Robben, with Kader Keita a close second. You only have to look at Robben and he theatrically throws himself to the ground like he has been shot in the leg. Keita's dive from Kaka's inocuous push was also as disgraceful.

8. Fastest team at moving the ball. Spain. Quick short passes, speedy movement off the ball and a killer first touch. Spain move the ball around at such speed it is hard for defenders to keep shape for the entire game, a joy to watch.

9. Fastest manager off their seat. Maradona. Won over the Argentine public and a few others along the way. His passion and love for his team inspired many, who wouldn't want to be coached by the Argentine legend?

10. Fastest referee to blow his whistle. After a World Cup littered with referee errors and mistakes there has been a big call for technology to be introduced to help the referees out. There is only one winner here and the man needs no introduction... Koman Coulibaly of Mali. Refereed the USA v Slovenia game where he dissalowed a prefectly legitimate US goal.

There you have it, my Top 10 'fastest' of the World Cup.
