About Us

Biography

Lee has been coaching soccer for more than 10 years since he began coaching youth and collegiate teams in his home country of Wales. He played semi-professional soccer in the professional League of Wales and was picked for the All Wales college team while playing collegiate soccer across Wales and England.

It was in the U.K. that he obtained his F.A. and U.E.F.A. coaching badges before he moved to the United States to work for Challenger Sports’ British Soccer Camps and play American collegiate soccer. Lee earned a bachelor’s degree in sport and fitness from Brewton-Parker College. He now coaches select girl’s soccer, middle school boys, and founded Speed, Agility and Quickness camps.

In addition to soccer certification, Lee is a qualified personal trainer with four years experience and a qualified Speed, Agility and Quickness instructor with NESTA. He is CPR certified and has recently attended Lee Taft’s Athletic Speed Formula in New York and has obtained the International Youth Conditioning Association license.

Philosophy

We at SAQ Soccer believe young athletes must be given boundaries and limits to work within as well as freedom to express themselves as people and as athletes. SAQSoccer instructors use directed guidance and act as positive role models to help young individuals recognize and achieve their goals.

Correct discipline and coaching is important in a young person’s soccer career. Lee has found, through captaining at a collegiate level, that if a person is continually criticized, they learn to condemn, but if a person has security and approval, they learn to have faith in others and themselves.

We believe coaching should involve the players. We should not only create and develop a better athlete, but also help facilitate an individual’s maturation as a human being. After each athlete attends one of our programs they will be a more confident athlete and a more confident person. We all know how important confidence is to an athlete in any sport. To do this, one must uphold strong values. We hope to achieve these goals through humility, trust, endless effort, pride and discipline. Sports are in a state of constant change, and there is no limit to continuing education and innovation.

Our mission is simple: to help every athlete get to the next level, to help them become a more dynamic player and to help them become stronger – both physically and mentally –through our extensive training program and knowledge of the science that is speed and sports. And, most importantly for the health and safety of our athletes.
